The Society intends offering places for up to eight frail elderly people from the community daily from Monday to Friday. The present policy of Social Services is to encourage the elderly to stay in their own homes as long as possible. This policy is hampered by two factors – loneliness and inactivity – and we believe that the Activity Centre will be significant in overcoming those barriers. It will allow our day visitors to take part in a planned programme of activities as well as meeting and sharing time with the residents. The facilities will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and refreshments and lunch will be provided. There will be time to relax and talk as well as take part and opportunities to make use of the Therapy room will be available.
