Procedure for Application for a Residential Place

Home

Bradbury House has two waiting lists.

·        A long term list for those who want to plan for the future.

·        A short term list for prospective residents who are looking for a suitable care home to move into within a few months from the initial enquiry.

Applying for the long term waiting list

To apply for a place on the long term waiting list, the following procedure is to be followed:

1.         Contact the Admissions Secretary, Mrs. Caroline Whiteman, in writing via Bradbury House.

2.         Mrs Whiteman will contact you to arrange a suitable date and time for you to visit the home. We do not encourage people to come and look around Bradbury House without an appointment because it is the home of our residents and we respect their privacy.

3.      During the visit to Bradbury House, the admissions secretary will show you around the home, and if you would like to proceed further, you will be asked to complete a waiting list application form.

Applying for the short term waiting list

1.      Proceed as for applying for the long term waiting list above.

2.      During your visit, one of the managers will carry out an assessment, which will determine your care needs. Bradbury House is primarily a care home and we are unable to accept people onto our waiting list who would require nursing care from the outset. Following the assessment you will be informed whether or not we are able to offer you a place on our waiting list.

3.      Finally you will be required to complete a form indicating your acceptance onto the waiting list.

We cannot predict accurately when a room will become available; we encourage people to keep in regular contact with our Admissions Secretary, especially if a change in circumstances has occurred.

If there is a long gap between your initial visit and the availability of a room at Bradbury House, a reassessment by the Home Manager will be necessary before an offer can be made and confirmed.
